Kaani Grand Seaview is on Aabaadhee Hingun Road, on the seafront of Maafushi, a local island in South Malé Atoll about 26 km south of Malé. The island measures roughly 1.3 km by 260 m and has no cars or taxis, so everything is done on foot: Bikini Beach is just across the road and the harbour about six minutes' walk away.

From Velana International Airport, the simplest route is the Kaani speedboat, which takes about 35 minutes and runs every day at fixed times, with the last boats leaving in the early evening. It has a charge unless your rate includes it: send your flight details in advance to secure a seat and confirm the timetable with the hotel. Meet the crew at desk E12 in Terminal 2 at the airport, or at Jetty 6 in Malé, 30 minutes before departure.
Other shared speedboats cover the same route in 30 to 45 minutes. The slower public ferry leaves from the Villingili ferry terminal in Malé, takes about an hour and three quarters and does not run on Fridays; tickets are bought on the day, and the current timetable is worth checking on the RTL portal. If your flight lands after the last boat, plan a night in Malé or Hulhumalé.

Boat trips are the main event here. Within easy reach are sandbank picnics about 15 minutes away, snorkelling stops with turtles and a wreck, nurse sharks and rays at sunset and dolphin cruises, while whale sharks in South Ari are around two hours each way. No reef can be reached from the shore, so snorkelling is done from a boat.
Day passes to resort islands such as Biyaadhoo and visits to the local islands of Guraidhoo and Gulhi round out the options; the beaches of these neighbouring islands are reached only by boat. Bring some cash for small purchases and tips on the island.
